About HPAE
Health Professionals & Allied Employees (HPAE) primarily represents nurses, technical and service employees in hospitals across New Jersey. The union is part of the American Federation of Teachers – one of the nation’s largest teacher’s unions. HPAE is not known for representing paramedics. It may not have experience negotiating labor contracts in that industry.

If a union is voted in, you may have to pay dues just to keep your job. HPAE’s dues are 1.25% of a member’s gross income – including overtime. If you regularly work overtime, the amount used to calculate your dues will be higher than your regular hourly rate.
